Winter beyond the slopes at Hochkar

Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and Uphill ski touring at Hochkar

In addition to skiing and snowboarding fun, Hochkar now offers the opportunity to enjoy winter away from the slopes. A cross-country ski trail, snowshoe route, and uphill ski touring track provide the perfect way to experience the snowy landscapes of this winter paradise when conditions allow.

Trail Descriptions

Cross-Country ski trail:
The 1.1 km cross-country trail at Hochkar is prepared for classic skiing and features a double track. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, the cross-country trail, uphill track, and snowshoe route are ideal for immersing yourself in nature and finding some peace and quiet.

Snowshoe route:
This route initially follows the cross-country trail and later leads through open terrain to Hochkar's mountain lake, slightly off the beaten path but not far from the ski slopes.
Length: 2.4 km

Uphill ski touring track:
Starting from parking lot 4 at the base of the ski area, this ascent route follows the cross-country trail at first, then transitions into open terrain, leading to the mountain lake on the edge of the ski area. From there, skiers can descend via the Family Slope (easy) or the Thomas Sykora Slope (hard).
Length: 1.1 km
