Track "Ötscher-Schutzhaus"
Total ascent: about 3,4km and about 560 meters of altitude
Level: light-medium, also suitable for beginners
The route starts at the rear parking lot in Weitental. From there it runs along the road to the edge of the forest. There the trail turns right and continues slightly uphill through the forest. After a few minutes you will reach piste #2 of the Großer Ötscher. The ascent route is on the extreme left side of the slope as seen from below. A little further up you turn left onto the ski trail. After a right-hand bend, you continue along the ski trail towards piste #2. Shortly after that, the ascent route runs left into the forest. From there on you are off the ski slopes in the wooded area. The ascent to the shelter is marked.The upper part of the ascent track (in the wooded area) is not open for downhill skiing.
Attention: The Ötscher Schutzhaus will not be open!
Price
A ski touring ticket is mandatory for ski touring on the Ötscher. The ski touring day ticket for € 11,- can easily be purchased in the Ötscher online shop or on site at the pick-up machine. The season ticket for tourers can also be purchased in the Ötscher online shop for € 105,-.
The skitouring ticket includes the cost of using the parking lot, toilets and slopes and routes.

Specials
Sunset piste walking is allowed on Tuesdays from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on the slopes 1 & 2 up to the "Großen Ötscher". Attention: Ötscher Schutzhaus will not be open!
All slopes of the Hochkar & Ötscher Tourismus GmbH are closed on
WED through MON from 5:00pm & TUE from 9:00pm.
