Ravine hike Opponitz ("Schluchtenwanderweg")

Whether summer or winter, the "Schluchtenwanderweg" in Opponitz offers its guests and conquerors many wonderful things in the annual cycle, in addition to the magnificent view over the Ybbstal.

The magnificent hiding places and rock formations offer space for young and old to play and tell imaginative stories, the numerous bankers and the refreshments in the Ochsenluckn invite you to let your soul dangle as well as your tired legs.

The fauna and flora along the way are on display to the attentive observer in all their splendour and many tasty berries and medicinal herbs are available for enjoyment.

Fairytales and legends entwine around the wonderful spot of earth, and at the starting and finishing points of the hike, the Schluchtenhütte rewards young and old with its homely ambience and regional delicacies from its own kitchen.

With music and in convivial company, there is something for everyone. While the grown-ups relax and chat, the children take the opportunity to let off steam at the playground and get to know the farm animals up close.
