Hiking village Hollenstein an der Ybbs
Between alpine pastures and mountain summits.
Some places in the Mostviertel have set themselves the goal of further developing the regional hiking offerings - and have been awarded the Austrian Hiking Quality Seal for their efforts. One of them is Hollenstein an der Ybbs.
At the foot of the Königsberg mountain (1,409m), nestled between Gamsstein mountain (1,774m) and Voralpe (1,770m) lies the historic village of Hollenstein/Ybbs at an altitude of around 460m. Hollenstein/Ybbs is the right address for nature lovers as well as for active families.
Diverse hikes for nature lovers
Through refreshing forest passages over mountainous landscapes to a cozy stop at the alpine pasture. The variety of tours in Hollenstein/Ybbs attracts both mountain adventurers and nature lovers to the hiking village and at the same time inspires them with its cultural and historical background.
The leading hiking trail “Natur.Genuss.Berg” forms the overall package of a promising hike with the route starting from the hiking host Gasthof Jagersberger to the Kitzhütte and over the ridge to the Siebenhütten. If you prefer the more leisurely option, the “Natur.Genuss.Berg” village circular route leads you on an exploration tour through the hiking village, which is also perfect for families.
Tip: The Lower Austrian Eisenwurzen Nature Park also offers an extensive network of hiking routes of varying levels of difficulty.
