Flowers as far as the eye can see

A cooperation for more biodiversity.

From mid-May until the beginning of June, a very special display of flowers can be admired in ten meadows in the Ybbstal Alps.

The four Ybbstal communities of Hollenstein an der Ybbs, Göstling an der Ybbs, Lunz am See and Opponitz support the preservation of these regional and species-rich natural treasures in the “Daffodil and orchid meadows in the Ybbstal” project.
The communities have developed awareness-raising measures together with the "LEADER region Eisenstraße Lower Austria" and the Mostviertel protected area management. These measures go from display boards and teaching materials to hands-on projects and guided excursions.

In each project community, display boards were put up in meadows that are particularly high-quality in terms of nature conservation.

Please note: These areas have become very rare and are of the highest value in terms of nature conservation.

Many thanks to the managers for their appreciative care in harmony with nature! If you are interested in further events in Naturland Lower Austria, please click HERE.

Guided hikes to the flower meadows will be offered again this year. Exact information and dates will follow.
