The picturesque mountaineering village is best known for the idyllic Lake Lunz. On hot days, you can take a boat tour on the lake, where the fresh sea breeze will cool you down. If you prefer to be in the water, you can spend the warm days in the seaside public bath.
Lunz has a lot to offer in terms of landscape. The UNESCO World Natural Heritage Wilderness Area Dürrenstein-Lassingtal, which extends in the surrounding area via Göstling an der Ybbs into Styria, can also be seen in the House of Wilderness ("Haus der Wildnis") in Lunz - perfect as a bad weather program.
